For Nifeliz designer Farrin, the Christmas countdown wasn't just about marking time—it was about creating an experience, a journey of anticipation. Every year as Christmas approached, the festive spirit would begin to fill the air, and Farrin wanted to encapsulate that feeling in a design. She imagined a piece that could not only track the days leading up to the holiday but also evoke the joy and warmth that come with it.

It all started with a simple idea: a countdown decor. But as the concept began to take shape, Farrin realized that this project needed more than just functionality—it needed to capture the essence of the season. Initially, she added various decorative elements to the dial, using reds and greens to reflect the holiday spirit. But after multiple assembly tests, she encountered an unexpected issue: the dial, overloaded with decorations, didn't turn smoothly. This posed a dilemma—how could she preserve the festive beauty while ensuring the mechanism worked seamlessly?

Farrin found herself at a crossroads between function and aesthetics. After several trials, she carefully stripped back some of the extraneous details, ensuring the dial would spin effortlessly while keeping the most meaningful elements intact. The final result was a dial that not only worked smoothly but also captured the excitement of counting down to Christmas. Every turn now feels like a small celebration, bringing users closer to the holiday.

Color choice was another key aspect of her design process. Farrin experimented with muted winter tones at first, but soon realized they didn't create the festive atmosphere she envisioned. Instead, she settled on the classic Christmas palette—reds, greens, and golds—while also weaving in some blue tones to evoke the chilly winter nights. One of the standout features she added was a bright yellow moon, perched at the top, symbolizing Santa Claus soaring across the sky with his reindeer. This detail not only enhanced the holiday mood but added a touch of magic and whimsy to the set.

That's why she added two display modes: during the countdown, the dial reads "Christmas Countdown", but when the big day finally arrives, a quick twist reveals a festive "Merry Christmas" message. While the team initially suggested a standard printed design, Farrin wanted the dial to shimmer under the light, reflecting the luxurious glow of the holiday season. After extensive testing, she opted for the gold foil transfer stickers, which give the dial a magical gleam, especially when it catches the light, enhancing the festive feel.
