The North Carolina Class Battleship was a fast battleship, built for the United States Navy in the late 1930s and early 1940s. During the Second World War in a variety of roles, mainly in the Pacific theater where it escorted fast carrier task forces.
North Carolina was decommissioned in Bayonne, New Jersey on 27 June 1947.
